Demonstrations of narcotics detection by certified police K-9 unit Donny Emerick and K9 Rita. Donny and Rita will conduct demonstrations displaying Rita's abilities to locate hidden illegal narcotic odors. Rita is able to detect narcotics almost anywhere!  Saturday Morning Only!

K9 Nose Work demonstrations with Michael McManus

K9 Nose Work® is a fun new dog sport in which any dog can participate. It is modeled after bomb or narcotic style detection but we use benign odors (birch, anise and clove oils) and train for fun. We will demonstrate how dogs of different breed and personality all enjoy this detection style training in different situations. www.readysitgo.com

 

TREIBBALL DEMONSTRATIONS!

Demonstrations with Michael McManus

Treibball is a combination of herding, soccer and advanced obedience. Dogs are taught to go out select from a number of balls and push them back to a goal or the handler. Despite its outward appearance to herding, such as the use of herding commands and the ability of the dogs to herd the balls, no herding instinct is required. www.readysitgo.com

Speaking on the Good Dog Stage will be Donald Dotter, creator and owner of Kinetic Paws, Orthotics and Prosthetics.

This field is relatively new and there is much to learn from Kinetic Paws. Don't miss this educational opportunity

Kyra Sundance's world famous acrobatic stunt dog team have amazed audiences worldwide in person and on TV with their high-flying acrobatics and incredible teamwork. High-energy stunts choreographed to techno music dazzle the audience! The "World's Smartest Dog" routine (as performed on Jay Leno) will leave them scratching their heads anting more!

 

Nannette Klatt, Gallant Heart Guide Dogs

Nannette is an accomplished (SAG) film, television and commercial actress as well as a print model, published writer, and accomplished equestrian.

Nannette is legally blind and accompanied by her guide dog, Saint Breeze, she will talk about the life of a guide dog and the owner it is paired with.

See some of the cutest, happiest dogs around! The Pet Parade is open to all participants who want to show off their dogs in all their best or funniest finery. Come join the parade and win prizes.

AMERICAN DIVING DOGS

DEMONSTRATIONS THROUGHOUT SATURDAY and SUNDAY

Watch happy dogs jumping off a dock into a pool of water. They LOVE it, and you will, too! Your dog may try out and practice all day for a nominal fee. Committed to animal rescue, they believe that dock diving provides an opportunity to advance responsible pet ownership, and doing something fun also exercises a dog’s mind and body.

Well, now you can find out. For a nominal fee you and your dog can try out the agility course under the supervision of an experienced instructor! Have fun and a bit of exercise watching the agility demos and giving the ring a try.

FLYBALL DEMONSTRATIONS BY THE MISFITS

Enjoy watching the exciting sport of Flyball. Teams of dogs race against each other over a line of hurdles to a box that releases a tennis ball to be caught by the dog, and then back to their handler while carrying the ball.

CANINE GOOD CITIZEN TEST

Presented by High Desert Obedience Club

Registration: 9:00 am Event Begins at 10:00 am

The CGC Test is to demonstrate that the dog, as a companion of man, can be a respected member of the community, and can be trained and conditioned to always behave in the home, in public places,and in the presence of other dogs in a manner that will reflect credit on the dog.

To qualify, a dog must pass each of the ten test categories listed below.

Cost for the CGC test is $10 for the first dog and $8 each for any additional dogs. (Please Note: CGC is not an official AKC title and will not appear on a dog's registration certificate or pedigree. It is meant to reward dogs for having good manners, which enhances public acceptance of dogs. It is the first AKC program ever opened to non-purebred dogs.)
